Not gentle at all - too much exfoliation!

I was attracted to this product due to its claim for "daily cellular renewal for smoother, brighter, fresher skin". It sure deep clean and exfoliates all right...excessively. The fact that it contains both salicylic acid (which causes the cells of the epidermis to shed more readily) and clay (used to absorb excess oil, dirt, and toxins from the skin while exfoliating and improving skin circulation) pretty much suggests that you will be shedding like mad. Using this during winter certainly doesn't help.
Despite the naming, there's little foam, the grittiness was expected due to the micro-beads, but the cleanser is not gentle at all (not sure how it can be with salicylic acid) and is not effective at removing all dead skin (unless you intentionally scrub harder in the area). After washing, face feels tight and dry; soon after, various dry spots emerge with dead skin surfacing(cheeks mainly). As soon as I stopped using the product, the dryness improved significantly.
